PGO-7
RPG - Russia - RPG-7

The PGO-7 is a 2.7x (some sources say 2.8x)? scope originally maufactured in Russia for use on the RPG-7 laucher. Belarussia also produces the scope, and China has a modified version they produce.

Since its initial design different versions of the PGO-7 have been produced. This includes but is not limited to: PGO-7, PGO-7B, PGO-7B2, PGO-7V(?), PGO-7VU(?). The most common version on the US second hand market appears to be the PGO-7B

The scope mounts using an regular AKM side optic rail. Chinese versions mount using a unique rail that while similar is smaller and not cross compatible with a regular AKM side optic rail.

The reticle pattern consists of a grid and range finder. The grid is marked such that various RPG rounds of different weights can be adjusted for. Most versions of the scope also has night time ilumination by way of a bulb.

The scopes presumably entered production at the same time as the RPG-7 in 1958.(?)

Russian soldiers started mounting the scope on AK74 rifles, a practice that appears to continue to this day.
