NIT-A (НИТЬ)
multi - 1x - Russia - AKM / AK74

Built by NPZ/НПЗ (Новосибирский Приборостроительный Завод/Novosibirsk Instrument-Building Plant), initial production and troops trials began in 1993, with adoption by the MVD (Ministry of Internal Affairs) happening on June 7th, 1995 (Pavel, 2010). The НИТЬ appears to have never been adopted by the Russian army as it never received an offical GRAU number. Documented manuals (currently only two) have final inspection dates in 2008 and 2009, suggesting production was restarted at least once by NPZ.

Some military marked scopes are marked НИТЬ-A instead of НИТЬ.

For more info check out RussianOptics.net which has a nice section on shooting the sight.

Serial Numbers

Their appears to be two separate serial number ranges, one for military marked scopes and the other for civilian scopes.

The hammer and sickle style mark was generally reserved by NPZ for military versions of their scopes while the triple triangle logo was used on products intended for commerial sale.

The serial numbers follow NPZ's normal method with civilian market sights having a simple numeric serial number and military marked sights having a letter prefix before the serial number.
