CK-1
5.45x39 - Poland - Tantal / Onyks

Special thanks to Piotr Bojanowski of Poznan for assisting with information for this page.

The CK-1 was a collimator sight developed and tested in Poland by PCO. Development is believed to have been inspired by the Weaver Qwik-Point. The sight was tested by the Polish army on the AKM, SVD and Tantal rifles, but testing was focused on the new Tantal and Onyks rifles. Due in part to the Tantal’s left side selector switch (also probably due to the eye relief required) a rail was attached to the left side of the rear sight block to mount the CK-1, while this worked for the CK-1 the new rail was insufficient to support larger weight of night vision sights which the army required, and the army did not want to support two different optic rails for the same rifle.

The CK-1 was not adopted after testing, but PCO would continue development leading to the CK-2 and eventually the CK-3 that would see use on the Beryl and Mini Beryl rifles.

Seen pictured on an Onyks carbine, this was the rail developed to mount the CK-1 to Onyks and Tantal rifle.

Seen mounted on a SVD during early testing.

Mounted on a Onyks wz.89 Carbine. Notice the eye piece is shorter than in other photos.
